will the ad2usb work with a vista 128fb not an bp by an fb fire board

AFAIK this board has one special issue and that is that it detects ground faults. This will be a problem as it expects to have a floating ground.

The product you need is called an ECP-ISO from Honeywell.
This will allow you to add burg equipment etc to your Fire panel and still let the fire panel monitor the ground for faults. I do not exactly understand why this is but I suspect its part of the systems ability to be very assured that a fire reporting device is happy and cant be interfered with. Or maybe even they use the ground as a signal and if it were truly grounded it would shunt there signal?

Yes sorry I was talking about the setup of the ad2usbgui keypad. I put in "/dev/tty.usbserial-A5003uI4" but nothing happens. The log says "Opening COM Port /dev/tty.usbserial-A5003uI4" but then nothing. It's not communicating with the AD2USB.

Anyway, my wife is taking her Mac with her on a trip so now I have to use my work PC, but its locked down for any software installs by my IT dept. I am able to use PuTTY and log into my Vera2 however. But not sure what to do from there. I am on the same LAN as my Vera but my PC isn't letting me connect the AD2USB directly to the USB port as I don't have Administrator privileges. I just want to be able to upgrade the firmware of the AD2USB and enable virtual relays. Can I do this via Putty but without being directly connected to the AD2USB? I downloaded the latest firmware version V2.2a5. I am currently at the PuTTY prompt: root@mios_MYVERANAME:~#

Any help from here would be greatly appreciated.

No issues with communication with Linux but frequently I find that the permissions on /dev/ttyUSB0 etc are wrong

Try chmod og+rw /dev/ttyUSB0 or what ever your device is.

If you dont have any outputs then maybe just tell them you are installing both relay modules and you want to make sure they disable any relays on the GSM module.
